Stage 3
After reading the article “Why You Shouldn’t Wear Your ‘I’m With Her’ Shirt To Work” by Kristen Bahler, I came to a conclusion
that she’s right. We’re in the middle of a crisis by having Hillary and Trump
as president nominees and we all have different opinions. On this article she’s
talking about why we shouldn’t wear politic related clothing to work and how it
could affect the workplace and how that might affect the way we treat each
other. She states that although some jobs do let you wear whatever you want to
it, you shouldn’t take advantage of it and start wearing political clothing. I agree
with her because to me politics are like religions. We all believe in something
different and it should be something that we should keep to ourselves so we are
not disrespectful. For example, some people are Christian and some are Jewish
and most of the time they don’t interact with each other but if they do they
are respectful to each other and keep each other’s beliefs to themselves just
to not cause an argument about who’s the” better” person, and that’s how it
should be towards controversial issues. Such as the topic of who our next
president is going to be. I feel like she’s credible because she uses other
people to back her argument up. She brought Edward Yost, a HR business partner
and asked for his opinion about the issue to which he is against political
clothing being worn to your workplace and to which he replied “it’s probably
not a good idea”. I also feel she’s credible because in her article she links
other people’s work so people can click and study this issue furthermore. I believe
this article is directed to the general public but mainly to the people who
think it’s okay to express themselves towards issues that they know are very
controversial.
